Andy Burton
Your Candidate for the Claygate, Hinchley Wood and Oxshott By-Election on 21st August

About Andy
I’m Andy Burton, and I've lived here for 20 years with my wife and 3 children. I've spent my career in the City and overseas, was a Chair of Governors at a local primary school for 8 years and have been active in my local community in various ways.
I want to serve as your County Councillor as I believe I have the motivation, skills and experience to help lead Surrey County Council through a huge reorganisation and improve services after 45 years of Conservative-led administration.
The state of our roads is the worst in my living memory. I would prioritise spending and resources to fix this.
Children are our future and we need to invest in them by making education a priority. I want to bring in measures to help tackle child obesity and school absenteeism and to encourage a love of reading. This could be achieved through targeted interventions and need not involve significant additional spending.
Only the Liberal Democrats can deliver a fair deal for Surrey after 45 years of Conservative failure. A vote for any other party in this election risks letting the Conservatives back in.

The state of our roads is the worst in my living memory. We deserve roads that are safe to drive on, and we shouldn't have to worry about potholes everytime we go out. If elected, I will push Conservative-led Surrey County Council to fix the mess that they have created.
-
If elected, I will use my 20 years of financial experience to hold the Conservative administration to account over the 2 billion pounds worth of debt they have racked up.
