Why community matters

Covid has shown how important and vibrant our community is, from WhatsApp groups supporting local residents to keep in touch with networks of volunteers making sure vulnerable people receive the food and supplies they need.

The Liberal Democrats are the natural party of the community and the team are proud of what they’ve delivered in coalition in Elmbridge recently, from securing a new dementia services centre and café in Thames Ditton to creating temporary winter homeless accommodation in Molesey.

The Conservatives are out of touch - and they don’t care. During the pandemic, Surrey County Council wasted £250,000 of your money preparing to set up a unitary authority: a power grab that would take decisions about your community further away from you.
