Truss resigns: Local Conservative MPs must do their patriotic duty and back election

Responding to Liz Truss’s resignation as Prime Minister, Liberal Democrat candidate for Esher and Walton Monica Harding said:

“Boris Johnson failed our country and Liz Truss trashed our economy. People in Surrey deserve better than this.

“The Conservative party have proven time and time again they are not fit to lead our great country.

“This country needs a general election and local Conservative MPs in Surrey now need to do their patriotic duty. Conservative MPs cannot prop up more chaotic Governments.

“The next election in Esher and Walton will be a choice of four more years of Conservative party chaos, or a hardworking Liberal Democrat MP who puts local people first”
