Federal Britain

EnglandIrelandPrintNoType-02With a no vote Britain still needs great reform. All that has been offered to Scotland in devomax has to be offered to the other parts of Britain. Each region should develop its own health, education, welfare, policing, transport and economic policies. The British government should limit itself to defence, trade, high finance, general welfare, global climate change and foreign affairs. Each region should have the same powers  - what Scotland gets we all get. The map shows my suggested regions - obviously up for discussion but one aspect I think is really important - London must not be made separate from the south east region but be the capital of Saxonia. England's population is far too large a proportion of Britain (83%) to enable it to form a separate entity within Britain. Also part of any practical change is that people must take sovereignty back from the British parliament.  Therefore any settlement must be governed by a formal written constitution. The British parliament must not remain above the law.
