Elmbridge Borough Council has been awarded 'Smarter Planning Champion' status in recognition of their drive for efficiency and improving the delivery of their planning application service, and is the first Council in Surrey to achieve this accreditation. Smarter Planning is a partnership between planning agents, local planning authorities and the Planning Portal. The Portal is the British Government's online planning and building regulations resource for England and Wales. The initiative aims to encourage and support best practice in the electronic submission and processing of planning applications.
