A recent study by the United Nations aiming to determine the levels of perceived happiness by country lists the following European states at the top (with Denmark in first place and France in tenth place): Denmark Netherlands Sweden Finland Austria Ireland Luxemburg Belgium Britain France The European Cycling Barometer lists the following European states as the best places for cycling (with Denmark in first place and Britain in tenth place): Denmark Netherlands Sweden Finland Germany Belgium Austria Hungary Slovakia Britain Which came first? Does cycling make people happier or does a happy people spend more time cycling?
